Nine Baseball is excited to announce a new concept for our signature Nine Combine for the 2014-15 off-season. The Nine Combine Off-Season Challenge Series will be an opportunity for players of all ages to match and measure their skills versus current and past top players. It will also provide opportunity for players who post top combine scores to gain an invite to the Nine Baseball MLK Pro Invitational Showcase. This years MLK Pro Invitational will be help with our partners at Maplezone Sports Institute in Garnet Valley, PA just outside Philadelphia on January 19th, 2015. Last year’s MLK Pro Invitational was attended by 20 MLB Scouts from 13 different clubs as well as the MLB Scouting Bureau. The event featured 55 top players from 10 states and of the 24 total 2014 graduates that attended five were selected in the 2014 MLB Draft (Josh Ockimey, JJ Matijevic, Andrew Bechtold, Gavin Sheets and Devon Fisher).
All players that participate in the Nine Combine Off-Season Challenge Series will be eligible for our Nine Combine leader-boards located on our home page.
The Nine Combine is a comprehensive baseball talent evaluation system. This proprietary evaluation system completely accesses a players ability in all measurable aspects of the game. Our system uses a measurement tool at every station (radar guns, stop watch, jump meter, tape measure). This system takes coaches or evaluators opinion completely out of the equation. Your score is produced by the data collected. The system is designed to be easily repeatable at any location and limits variables as much as possible to produce a true comparison of players. The unique scoring system allows participants to measure their ability against players of their own age group from different regions of the country. The scoring system is exclusive to Nine Baseball and its affiliates.
